The Story Behind
WHY WE EXIST.
“I built BECOMING. for the woman I had to become — and for everyone in the space between who they were and who they’re becoming.”
BECOMING. began in 2022, after the loss of my mother. In the space between who I was before and who I had to become, I started writing — journal entries about grief, identity, and the version of myself I was learning to leave behind. The hoodie came first. Then the sleeve print: “I am no longer her.” It wasn’t a slogan. It was the truth I needed to wear.
Today, BECOMING. is worn by women and men across South Africa who are in the middle of their own quiet revolution. We design in Cape Town, produce in small batches, and ship nationwide. Each piece carries the same message: you are not who you were, and you are not yet who you are becoming.

BECOMING. is proudly South African. Designed in Cape Town and produced in small batches, every piece supports a local economy. We work directly with local manufacturers to keep quality high and runs intentionally limited.
Free standard shipping on orders over R2000 — delivered nationwide in 3–5 business days. We ship via PUDO, Pargo and standard courier. Orders under R2000 are charged a standard courier rate at checkout.
14-day returns on unworn pieces. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs — please ship the item back at your own expense and we’ll process the exchange or refund as soon as it’s received. Sale items are exchange-only.
Becoming is the in-between. The version of you that is no longer who you were, but not yet who you are becoming. Every BECOMING. piece is made to be worn in that space — a quiet declaration that you’re showing up for the next version of yourself.
All BECOMING. pieces are unisex with a relaxed, oversized fit. Take your usual size for a true relaxed fit, or size down for a closer fit.
The sleeve print on hoodies, sweaters and longsleeves is done in premium DTF (Direct-to-Film) — long-lasting, soft on the skin, and built to survive a wash cycle without cracking. The beanie and scarf set is embroidered for a tactile, classic finish.
